Creamy White Wine Sauce

Once upon a time, we made our Cheese & Broccoli Stuffed Chicken Breast with OUT this Creamy White Wine Sauce!

But now that we’ve tried it, We LIKE it Too Much to Give IT UP!

Plus it’s So Easy to Make, you just need to make sure you Don’t Run Out of Wine! Now, if you are really worried about cooking with alcohol, you can substitute Chicken Broth instead of wine. When wine is heated some of the alcohol will evaporate, but not all of it. If you’ve never tried cooking with wine, we highly recommend it! Because the added flavor is Spectacular!

If you like a little spice in your life, add Red Pepper Flakes! If you’re not crazy about garlic, you could use onions or shallots. Maybe you’re out of Italian Seasoning. Chopped Parsley & even Thyme are great Herbal additions to this dish! Sometimes, we just open the cupboard & start adding ……. #WhiteWine

Creamy White Wine Sauce

But Here’s our basic Creamy White Wine Sauce Recipe:

Ingredient List:

  • 3 Tbs. Butter
  • 1 Tbs. or 4 Cloves Minced Garlic
  • 1/3 Cup White Wine
  • 2 Cups Heavy Whipping Cream
  • A pinch of Salt to Taste
  • Dash of Pepper to Taste
  • Dash of Red Pepper Flakes (if desired)
  • 2 Tbs. Italian Seasoning

This recipe covers 2 Very Large Cheese & Broccoli Stuffed Chicken Breasts…… We had already baked the breasts, so we just added the sauce ….. #Sauce

Make Creamy White Wine Sauce:

Melt the butter in a large enough pan that it will hold the chicken Plus the Sauce unless you don’t mind more dirty dishes!

Once your butter is melted, add your garlic cloves. Sauté the garlic for 20-30 seconds over medium to low heat. It will become bitter-tasting if heated too long. Add the white wine & let simmer for about 2 minutes. Whisk in the Whipping Cream and allow to simmer another minute. Then add in your herbs, salt, & pepper. Allow a low boil to occur. This will thicken the sauce. But make sure to whisk occasionally. We don’t want it to burn! It will take another 5 minutes or more to thicken.

Now, if you allowed enough space in your pan, you can add in your prepared Cheese & Broccoli Stuffed Chicken Breasts……

But, of course, you could use just plain ole chicken breasts…

We’ve even used this Creamy White Wine Sauce with our Tuscan Chicken Recipe.

We Love being able to place the chicken in the oven to keep warm. It also allows the chicken breasts to soak in all that White Wine Goodness. While this is happening, we prepare our side dish. Sometimes we’re in the mood for our Best Mashed Potatoes. But we’ve also served this over rice, sautéed zucchini noodles, or even riced cauliflower.
