Our Everything but the Kitchen Sink Cookies Recipe has been edited & taste-tested by all family members! These same cookies Sell Out at every bake sale! Until now, we have NOT shared this recipe outside of our family!
Just kidding…
This recipe is a variation on a traditional Chocolate Chip Cookie.
We have One Major Secret! In order to mix all the “Addition Ingredients” proportionately, we make a Huge Batch! #Foodie
Mix all these Ingredients & Set aside:
5 Cups Flour
2 & 1/2 Tsp Baking Soda
2 & 1/2 Tsp Baking Powder
2 & 1/2 Tsp Salt
Whip all these ingredients together:
2 Cups Softened Butter
1 & ½ Cups Sugar
1 & ½ Cups Light (Packed) Brown Sugar
2 & ½ Tsp Vanilla
4 Eggs
Mix Dry & Wet ingredients together for your Everything but the Kitchen Sink Cookies
This is where strong arms come in handy! So, you know how you want someone else to stir, because your arm gets tired? Getting the 1st & biggest cookie is the Best Bribe in our family! On the other hand, if you don’t take a turn stirring, you do NOT get a cookie!
Then it’s time to add in the YUM Factor! So, it all depends on who is making these cookies! We’ve got one family member that will NOT put raisins in the mix no matter how you try to bribe her! Then there is another who thinks any kind of nuts needs to be left out. No matter what your favorites consist of, we have found that a total of 6 Cups of the “additional ingredients” will make these Cookies Fabulous! #KitchenSink
8 Cups Additional Ingredients mixed to any Ratio Desired:
Oats
Chocolate Chips
White Chocolate Chips
Butterscotch Chips
Toffee Bits
Caramel Bits
Chopped Walnuts, Pecans or whichever kind of nut is your favorite
Raisins
Craisins
Any desired Dried Fruit (Blueberries?)
Coconut Flakes
Mini Marshmallows
Bake Everything but the Kitchen Sink Cookies
350 Degrees for 10 – 12 Minutes
Consequently, we tend to make our cookies Tablespoon size versus Teaspoon size, so our cookies need to bake a bit longer!
Another variation that one family member Loves is just using White Chocolate Chips & Craisins!
Of course, the grandkids like the mini Marshmallows. And we’ve also been known to throw in some mini M&M’s.
When a particular aunt comes to visit, we mix a batch heavy with Caramel & Toffee bits, lighter on the Chocolate Chips then sprinkle a little Sea Salt on top…
For the holidays, we tend to alter this recipe because no one likes Fruit Cake. So, we make our own “Fruit Cake” cookies by using Craisins, Dried Blueberries & Yogurt Covered Raisins. Of course, walnuts & coconut flakes make a great addition to this Fruit Cake Cookie!
Every family member has an opinion on what ingredient needs to be the main feature. But no matter how they are made, they Always get Eaten!
Now, just one little last SECRET! In order to be the Grandma that ALWAYS has fresh baked cookies, there is always cookie dough in my freezer. Parchment Paper & large Freeze-able containers are my best friends! It only takes a few minutes for the dough balls to thaw out OR they can thaw in the oven while it is warming up!
