A Hocus Pocus Dessert may disappear on the plate, but the calories probably won’t……
There is something about marshmallows that every kid loves. Even if those kids are completely grown up! Then when you add cinnamon & sugar OR chocolate, everyone’s delirious! #HocusPocus
So, we start the morning with our Cinnamon & Sugar Hocus Pocus “dessert”. This is very similar to a cinnamon roll. ONLY BETTER! Then we end the dinner hour with our Chocolate version.
And every calorie is worth seeing our grand kids’ delight!
Cinnamon & Sugar Hocus Pocus Dessert
- 1 Tube Crescent rolls (8 ct.)
- ¼ Cup Sugar
- ½ Tbs Cinnamon
- 8 LARGE Marshmallows
- 2 – 4 Tbs melted butter (in a small bowl)
- Ungreased muffin tins
- Chopped nuts
- Raisins
Preheat your oven to 375°. Combine the sugar & cinnamon in a small bowl.
Separate the crescent triangles. Roll each marshmallow in butter then dip into cinnamon sugar & place at the wide end of each triangle. You can also add a small number of chopped nuts or raisins to each roll if you wish. Then roll up each triangle. Fold over & pinch ends together. Dip the bottom of the roll in the melted butter & place the buttered end in a muffin tin. Bake for about 12 minutes until golden brown.
Once they are done, remove them from the muffin tins immediately. Otherwise, the melted marshmallow tends to seep to the bottom & the roll sticks to the tin.
Then top your Hocus Pocus Dessert however you wish. We have used white chocolate glaze or Hershey’s chocolate syrup. You can even dust with powdered sugar, cinnamon sugar, or a powdered sugar glaze. We recommend these be eaten while still warm…..
If you wish A Hocus Pocus Dessert Glaze:
- ½ Cup Powdered Sugar
- 1 Teas. Vanilla
- 2 Teas Milk
Whip the glaze together than just drizzle over the Rolls. You could even sprinkle some chopped nuts on top of your glaze….
A Hocus Pocus Dessert with Puff Pastry is another way we love to celebrate with Marshmallows!
All you need:
- Puff Pastry Shells (6 ct. box)
- Candy Bars of your choice
- Large Marshmallows
Preheat oven to 425°. Make sure the tops are pointed UP. Bake for about 15 minutes. They are just about done at that point. Let them cool for 1-2 min. Take the tops off. Insert 1 Large Marshmallow & 2 – 4 small pieces of candy bars. You can even drizzle some chocolate or white chocolate syrup inside if desired. Put the tops back on & bake for maybe 4 more minutes. #HocusPocus
This makes a very easy but pleasing Hocus Pocus Dessert!
We also love to drizzle some more chocolate syrup across the tops just to make it prettier! Not to mention, our love for Chocolate. Plain Hershey’s chocolate bars work great. About 4 small pieces per shell fit perfectly. But there is nothing wrong with adding more. Of course, why anyone would want less is not comprehensible. We’ve also tried Cookies ‘n’ Crème & Cookies ‘n’ Mint bars. But the all-time favorite is adding some Caramel Bits with Plain Hershey’s Chocolate bars!
Thank You
We hope you enjoy some Hocus Pocus of your own!
