So, back in the day… You know…… when you just can NOT go to sleep? There are too many things on your mind? You can NOT shut it all down? Or, the door to your mind just cannot be Locked & Barred? Those worries & “lists” of things that need to be done just keep creeping back in… No Matter how many sheep you count?
How about those nights that you finally get to sleep but “Something” wakes you up at 2 or 3 in the morning???? Then no problem getting back to sleep, right? NOT!
Of course, you fall asleep about 20 minutes before you are supposed to get up… Ever Happen To You????

So how can we find Ways to Wake Up Happy?

Maybe you are sleeping too little… But did you know that sleeping too much can also have a dragging, negative effect on our bodies & minds? Of course, there are other aspects of our environment that can affect our sleep too… Temperature plays a role. If you are too cold or too hot, you won’t sleep as well as you should.
If abrupt noises tend to wake you, you are not finding the best sleep your body needs. Maybe you need a noise machine. Birds chirping might not be your idea of a restful sound, but they sure help me wake more naturally in the morning. While the sound of waves or rain gives me that tranquil feeling as I fall asleep….
If you have something bothering you, making a note or journaling before bed might give you a way to clear your mind…. When my list (of things to do) is all set for tomorrow, I feel so much better at bedtime! Plus, having all your items ready to go for tomorrow allows for less Stress in the morning. This can include laying out your clothes, keys, and paperwork. And having your lunch ready to go too!

Then, when I wake, one of the first things I do is grab a cold drink of water. Most of us have a mild case of dehydration when we wake up… This is a very natural effect. But there are also other factors that can increase the amount of dehydration your body endures. Did you know drinking soda or alcohol can dehydrate you? So can fried foods & foods high in salt content! And worst of all, dehydration makes us feel very sluggish & tired!
